Strategy Guide: GoWiPe / GoWiWi

The name of these armies comes from the 3 main troops which form their backbone, Golems, Wizards and P.E.K.K.A's. or Witches. Even if the army consists mainly of these troops combinations, it also has other troops in smaller numbers to help support them. Please keep in mind this is a "guide" and is meant to give you a starting point for the use of these strategies.

  • These types of attacks can be slow moving, so look for a base that is made up of a few large sections to minimize the number of interior walls you will need to break through or jump over.

  • Decide whether to lure the enemy Clan Castle troops out or destroy them during the attack. It is always preferable to kill the enemy Clan Castle troops before launching your main attack; however, if the Clan Castle pull requires more than 15 troop spaces it may be worthwhile to launch Wizards directly behind your main attack (once the Clan Castle is triggered) with a Rage Spell to eliminate the enemy Clan Castle troops.

  • Do not take Wizards as your Clan Castle troops! They need to be spread out so it is better to have them as normal troops and have full control of how many are deployed and where.

  • Wall Breakers are can be critical for TH8 and TH9 attacks. Remember that a single Mortar or Wizard Tower shot can take out a group of Wall Breakers so try to stagger them in groups of 2 and launch them in between Mortar drops and directly adjacent to Golems to prevent splash damage from wiping them out!

  • Surviving Wizards are often the key to a 3 star attack. Keep 3-4 wizards in reserve until the attack unfolds. Deploy them when defenses target your main troops to destroy outside buildings or a final defensive structure.

Lure Clan Castle Troops:

The first thing you need to take care of when you attack with these strategies is the defender's Clan Castle troops. After you have lured the troops into a corner, you can either surround them with Archers and Wizards or use a Poison spell to kill them.

Lure the Clan Castle troops to a corner that is out of range of defenses and is behind a main deployment point for a Golem (to allow Clan Castle kill cleanup troops to funnel the main attack on that side).

Overrun Clan Castle Troops:

Having decided not to lure out the Clan Castle troops means you can skip ahead to the deployment of your main attack. When the Clan Castle troops come out to fight, you will need to drop a Rage and/or Poison spell on the area where they are attacking your troops to help quickly destroy them.

GoWiPe

After you have dealt with the Clan Castle troops (either killing or ignoring them), it's time to deploy the army. In the GoWiPe attack strategy, you do this by deciding on a line which you want to start your attack from. After you decided your line of attack, you will drop 1 Golem on each end of the line to target a perimeter defense followed by Wizards in a line directly behind your Golems to clear outside buildings for the purpose of funneling P.E.K.K.A.'s, Heroes, and additional Wizards into the center of the base. If possible try to leave a building or two standing between the two Golems to help direct your troops towards the opening you will be making with your Wall Breakers. Multiple Wall Breakers should be used between the Golems to open a hole into the main defensive compartment. After the funnel is set, deploy your P.E.K.K.A's, Heroes, Clan Castle troops, additional Wizards and Wall Breakers in the middle part of the primary attack line. By doing this, there will be NO distraction for the heroes and the P.E.K.K.A's and they will head right into the center of the base.

GoWiWi

After you finished with the Clan Castle troops (either killing them or ignoring them), it's time to deploy the army. In the GoWiWi attack strategy, you do this by deciding a line which you want to start your attack from. After you have decided your line of attack, you will drop 1 Golem in each end of the line to target a perimeter defense and 1 Golem in the middle of your funnel, followed by a large line of Wizards in behind the Golems and 2-3 Wall Breakers for each Golem. After the Golems are settled in to the defensive compartments and drawing fire, you will deploy all of your Witches, the Clan Castle troops, and the Heroes behind the middle Golem!

After your troops have entered the initial compartments of the base it is time for you to drop your first Rage Spell, followed by a Jump Spell to connect your troops to the central area where the Town Hall is. Once in the central area of the base, you will want to drop additional spells and or use Hero powers to quickly destroy the defenses and the enemy Town Hall.

Starting from late TH9 and all TH10 you will mostly aim for >50% and 2 stars using the GoWiPe attack! Do not expect too much out of this attack strategy when attacking well developed bases.
